Cypress Hill have been forced to cancel their Smoke Out Festival date in Oakland, California. It was supposed to happen on October 13, but this clashes with a baseball game featuring the Oakland As, who have priority at the venue, Network Associates Coliseum. The festival will now happen on October 6 at Devore, California, when Cypress Hill will not only be joined by Deftones and the Smoke Out touring party, but also by the bands on the Road Rage trek, namely Machine Head, Fear Factory, Chimaira and Ill Nino. | |

Master bassist Billy Sheehan has revealed to TotalRock that he would love to tour again with David Lee Roth. As he releases his debut solo album, ‘Compression’, Sheehan said that there had been moves to reunited the ‘Eat ’Em And Smile’ DLR line-up, and that guitarist Steve Vai plus drummer Gregg Bissonette were also interested in the idea. However, things seem to have foundered so far on David Lee Roth himself. But don’t rule this out happening sooner rather than later. | |

HTP, the Hughes Turner Project, are likely to release their self-titled debut album early next year on Pony Canyon Records in Japan – so far this is only label deal signed by Glenn Hughes and Joe Lynn Turner (respectively the ‘H’ and ‘T’). The album will include at least one special guest in guitarist John Sykes. And fans can look forward to tours in the US, UK and Europe and Japan in 2002. | |
