Metallica have just filmed a video for the title track of new album ‘St. Anger’ at the infamous St. Quentin Prison in California. But they had to pay a price. In exchange for persmission to shot the video there, the band will perform a hour-long set before a captive audience on May 1. In further band info, Metallica are to play three shows in Paris on June 11. They happen at La Boule Noir, Le Bataclan and Le Trabendo. This is two days after the band’s new album, ‘St. Anger’, is released.

While the prospect of having to shell out what amounts to barely more than $200 might not cause the band too many sleepless nights, the fans are also asking for this to be recognised as a ‘class action’. This means that if Creed lose the case, all 15,000 people at the gig would be entitled to the same refund.

Aerosmith are to start work on their new album in the next few weeks. It’s to be co-produced by the band with Jack Douglas, and is to be the long-planned blues album. Sharon Osbourne was apparently attacked outside a Japanese restaurant in West Hollywood. The attacked is alleged to have been Renee Tab, whom the Osbournes accused of gatecrashing their new year’s ever party and walking off with a $15,000 necklace, a prize in a raffle they claim she had no right to enter. In a counter claim, Tab insists Sharon Osbourne started the trouble outside the restaurant by spitting at her. So far, no charges have been brought.
